A Wonderful Dream (1)

I had a dream last night it was quite vague ......, but I can only remember that I was hugging a girl, I could not remember why but I just didn't want to let her go and I also didn't know who the girl was as I couldn't see the face, but it was my first time to see myself just hugging a girl and not hugging myself.

Margaux's Last Day

I just found out that today was the last day for one of the interns in my company as she will be going to Bali and Vietnam for her holidays next week. Her name is Margaux, (pronounced as Margo). She was with us for about 2 to weeks only, she is cute and adorable because she is only 15. So next year she will going back to Nan Yang Girls' High for her Secondary 4 and from there go to Hwa Chong JC. In order to bless her, I bought her pizza for lunch and we waited for about an hour plus for the delivery to come. She ate 2 slices of the cheese crust pizza and two slices of garlice bread, and I had to finish the rest, it was really full. From there she wanted to buy gifts for the staff and coincidentally it was my half day leave and so I decided to accompany her. We went to OG City Hall where she gingerbread man for the staff, very thoughtful, and after buying we proceeded back to the company. On our way back, I was really happy just to spend some time with her, though it may be nothing, I did lend a helping hand by pulling up her handbag strap back to her shoulder and grab her right arm to pull her away from the crowd at the MRT train. To her these may be small things, but to me it is something I treasure, why? i do not know. I did request to her to send a self potrait of herself in her "lawyer" attire to me as a token of rememberance, but it is up to her to do it.

One Happy Moment (1)

Yesterday was one happy day although it wasn't the whole day, maybe I should say whole evening. Anyway, I met up wih my friend's girlfriend to buy her a birthday present. At first I wanted to meet at the ground floor of her office block, but late we met up at the Raffles Place control station from there we took the MRT to Bugis and walked all the way to Sim Lim Square. I told her actually can take a bus to Sim Lim Square directly by bus but she didn't know. We entered the game shop to buy her favourite game "The Sims" and we left. At the bus stop, she was to take bus 960 and I wanted to take bus 57 in the end we went to 960 as she didn't want to go home alone. So we chatted during the journey and I actually held the bus rails such a way that she stood in one corner with me in such a way prevent her from moving to another corner of the bus if the bus brakes hard but it didn't happen. After reaching the bus interchange, she rushed to take another feeder bus home and I of course took the same bus back. All in all, it was really special to be with her but yah, she has a boyfriend and a good one too.

My Journey to SIM - She DIDN'T MIND

In order for me to go to school at SIM, I went to take the MRT from Raffles Place and alighted at Buona Vista to take Bu Service No. 74.

I wil usually try to look for a two person seat and sit at the isle side. On my bus journey, nothing special happened as it was a routine trip, the bus would travel from outside the new MOE building to Fairfield Methodist Secondary School, pick up more people and also from Dover ITE but when arrived at Singapore Polytechnic, there will be the usual big crowd of people trying to get on the crowded bus, and so as usual I would start to move into the window seat so that another commuter could sit instead of stand.

Well, four to five people walk pass the empty seat both guys and girls, I thought to myself, go ahead and pass it at least I got more space for my legs. One of the ladies even used the seat to put her handbag, to me that is as close it gets but she had to move deeper into the bus as there were people still boarding the bus but then I saw this beautiful long-haired girl who suddenly walked up and took the seat. I was amazed that such a beautiful girl would actually take the seat, she could walk away or just stand beside it but no, she straight away without a second of hesitation, and took the seat.

Of course, I tried to move my legs inner so as to give way for her legs to come in and there were times where her leg had to touch mine because people were squeezing out of the bus in order to get to the exit. Alas, we reached our destination, SIM. SHe got up and left with me trying to keep up with her and to find out which class she goes to. When she reached the third floor, she opened the door into the lecture theatre and went in never to be seen by me again unless God allows it.

I thanked God that He is still watching over me and carrying me through but I do wonder whether there really is a girl out there whom I can love and who loves me. I wonder ... ...

Cameron Highlands (30 Nov 2006 - 7 Dec 2006)

Day 1 & 2 (30th Dec & 1st Nov)

I reached SFMS at about 1130 am and mingled with other students like Bobby, Denise, Henrick and Johann. four new members for this Cameron Hike. We at first gathered for singspiration, a word from the Bbile and we went for photo taking at the Mezzanine floor. After that, we took a chartered bus and alighted at Woodlands Checkpoint. we then walk across the causeway to the Malaysian Checkpoint, and proceeded to City Square for a time of relaxation and dinner. No doubt many people were staring at us wondering what was going on as there were 9 of us walking in a chain towards City Square. We had our meals and also went shopping. You can't imagine how happy Ling Wen and Inez was when they were at Auntie Anne buying their pretzels. We then went to our bus agent to board a van to Larkin Terminal, unfortunately we weren't the only ones going there and so we had to go in different groups in stead of together in order to let others board the van too. By God's grace we all manage to reach Larkin Terminal in time before the bus arrives. After boarding the bus, it stopped at it's first destination which was Yong Peng, a two hour drive from Johor Bahru. We then reached Temor at around six plus in the morning, Mdm Yan also joined us that time. We had a bit of breakfast and loaded our stuff into another bus which would take us to Tanah Rata. Upon reaching Tanah Rata, Ling Wen, Inez, Mdm Yan and Ms Sarah went to Sheah Meng Hotel to get the keys for our rooms and also to put the stuff away. We then had another theme talk and went for acclamatization after our lunch. It was really successful as we didn't not lose our way or go the wrong path but it did rain which caused us to be a little tired.

Day 2 (2nd Nov)

After some last minute packing, we set off for Gunung Berembun at around 1030am, and had goreng pisang on the way. Thank God that He held the rain or it is going to be tiring for us, after going up and down and up again and after eight and a half hours later, at 7pm, we finally reached Gunung Berembun. We immediately setup camp. The three men and six men dome tent were setup first, followed by the over head ground sheet and fluorescent light and the floor ground sheet. We then setup the cooking area for the campers to cook their meals. In then end everyone was cosy in their tent and the people on night duty were out, but one thing was not done, there was no bonfire for everyone to keep warm. Though the winds keep blowing against us, we were at least still in the shelter of the tent.

Day 3 (3rd Nov)

After walking for a few hundred metres, I could walk no longer due to the pain in my big toe, both left and right. Therefore, Mr Chang told me to go back to Tanah Rata to rest while the rest carry on with the journey to Gunung Brinchang. After walking for one hour, I finally reached Tanah Rata, I even took the liberty of taking a few pictures of flowers grown in another hotel on my way back. You can see them later. In the end, I did not know what happened to the group as I was not with them but I did continue to pray for them.

Day 4 (4th Nov)

I was suddenly woken up by my handphone, it seems that Denise who injured her leg earlier on, could not walk any longer and I was told to get a cab for her. I quickly went out to the taxi company to find one, but to no avail as it wasn't open yet. Then I saw one guy near the bus company and asked him what time the taxi company would ope, He told me about 6:10am and so I decided to wait. 6:30am and there was no sign of a taxi at all, I really panicked as I really didn't know what to do while the rest were waiting for me to come. Suddenly, I saw a taxi pulling in to the company, by God's grace there was a taxi available. I quickly went in and told the indian driver to drive to Gunung Brinchang. We later started talking and he knew that Denise was in trouble and he also knew that I was from Singapore. He also said that at this time he usually send workers so very hard to get a taxi and since it was before 7am, he will be charging double, and so he then told me that the price to go and fetch Denise back was RM100, I sms Mr Chang about it and he told me to tell the driver to send me back to Brinchang town, and I did. When we reached there, the driver said that it was difficult for him to say out the cost, then he said pay him RM30 is enough and so I did. Mr Chang then call me and I told him what happned, he said that it should cost RM5 from Tanah Rata to Brinchang Town at the most RM10 and then he said take another cab back to Tanah Rata where the owner of the hotel is waitng for me as she will be driving to fetch Denise, after 20 mins there was still no taxi, then Mr Chang called and told me to wait for Ms Chong, the hotel owner who will drive up to fetch me. Within the next 10mins, I heard a car horn, and there was a lady in the car signalling to me to come in. Without hesitation, I went in and made our way to Gunung Brinchang. We excanged words and she told me it was daylight robbery to charge RM!00 just to drive to and fro. As she didn't know how to get to the location, I guided her, then as went approach the BOH tea farm she said she knows Sungei Palas but I didn't say the name as I only know it as a BOH tea farm. After making two left turns, I saw a man walking down the slope and at first glance I couldn't tell who it was, then at a second glance, it was Mr Chang. He got into the car and we went further up. Ling Wen, Ms. Sarah, Mdm Yan and Denise were there waiting at the side of the road. We all got into the car leaving Mr Chnag and Ling Wen behind to continue the journey and meet up with the rest of the team who were far ahead of them. We thanked Ms Chong for fetching Denise and the rest and we headed back to the hotel to rest. In the evening , around eight plus, the rest of the people were back taking showers and unloading the stuff from their bags. I too turned in early.

Day 5 (5th Dec)

After evaluation and lunch, we went for a short tour to the BOH tea farm and Raju's Hill Strawberry Farm. The tea was ok, but it was the montainous landscape that was really eye-catching and good for taking photographs. We then proceeded to Raju's Hill Strawberry Farm, this farm is highly recommended out of all the strawberry farms, even though there is no self plucking, at least the stawberries aren't damage by other people. In this farm, the workers will pick the strawberries for us. We place our orders for strawberries for fear they may be sold out, we also bought some souveneirs (ask Inez), Strawberry ice-cream, strawberry milkshake and strawberry jam. They were all delicious. We then went back to the hotel to play UNO. We then went out for dinner at a restaurant called the T Cafe, there were dim lights and candles illuminating the restaurant. We then proceeded to buy Ramly burger and went back to the hotel to sleep.

Day 6 (6th Dec)

With the final theme talk by Mr Chang, we headed for another tour to several places. THe first place was a vegetable market near Rose Valley. There we bought some vegetables, flowers and some food for breakfast. We then proceeded to a water cress farm, can still remember the way Mdm Yan and Sarah pronouce "water chestnut", "water chest" and "water cressnut". There we had a cup of water cress drink, very good for the body. THe Bee farm was another spectacular place where we saw boxes of bees inside and flying around it, and also learn how honey was extracted from the comb. The butterfly farm had a lot of interesting souveneirs from keychains to wall displays and even bookmarks. Finally, we went back to Raju's Hill Strawberry Farm to collect out strawberries and to have more milkshake, floats and ice cream, yum yum. We then had to go back to the hotel and pack out things to go back to Singapore. It was an exciting trip and memorable one too. Just can't wait for another trip to Cameron in 2007.

Closure of Choa Chu Kang Preaching Point (CCKPP)

Today's service at IMM Jurong was as usual, starting with praise and worship songs, proclamation of the Apostle's Creed, scripture reading followed by the message. offering song and doxology, but what happened next wasn't expected. Pasotr Anne came up to say that the ministry in CCKPP will come to a close at the end of this year. We couldn't find another place for worship, we owed CapitalLand a huge deficit and Pastor Anne will be posted to SengKang Methodist Church. We were told that Bukit Panjang MC and Queenstown MC will welcome the English and Chinese speaking congregation respectively. Soon in another 6 weeks time, 6 years of CCKPP will come to an end. To God be the Glory.

How my temporary job is so far

Since 30th October, my first day of work. Life really wasn't the same anymore. I used to travel to SFMS in the morning then from there, I try to help out a bit then come back home around in the evening. Now ever since I started work at Redhill Place, Centre for Employability Skills, life was a little bit more interesting or so to speak. I now work from 8:30am to 6pm. I work in the Operations Department, there I have 4 colleagues Renée Kyle Sequeira who is in charge of bookings for the CAT Test, Mike Cheong, superviosr of the Department, Farhana who is in charge of the statistics of the CAT Test and Siang Min, another temporary staff like me. My current duties are preparation of materials for CAT assessors, data entry, setting up of laptops and PCs for Computer Adaptive Test (CAT). The workload can be over-whelming at times but other times it is just plain boring as there is no for me to do. After two weeks, the work is alright, just that there will be less noise as people are clearing their leave.

Job Hunt

Today I opened up the Classified Ads to find jobs available for Part-time then I received a call from Peter and we discussed on which jobs to apply for. I then met up with Peter went on a job hunt. We at first went to find a job looking for General Workers. We thought it could be carrying things or even wash toilet but when we reached the location, we saw the company name "Shalom Movers". They specialise in removal of heavy stuff like pianos and organs which I told Peter, no, no, no. Although good to build strength but I rather go for other options. Then we went to Ubi Ave to a place called AML. There we at first took a drink then went to apply for the post of General Worker too. We first filled in the application form then went for the interview. It was a lady who interviewed us despise the male dominion environment. The lady was very sweet and gentle. and told us that the job scope was to send new cars to the Kaki Bukit Viacom for inspection and also to maintain the cleanliness of the showrooms both on the ground and second level. After the interview, Peter said to me "the girl can take home right" then I said "Yah take home to introduce to your mom, this is your colleague". We then proceeded to Lavendar for another job which was to be food packers for airplane passengers. At least work in an aircon room, so while waiting to attended to, Peter heard the conversation of another job applicant that as she was wearing a tudung she had to work in the Halal area and wear gloves, the job is a 7 day job with 1 off day, depends on which company she is sent too. So I and Peter took to our heels and left. Although we didn;t get sshort listed, at least we thank God that He gave us more knowledge about various jobs. Thank you God.

You won't believe it unless you see it

This afternoon came back from Sim Lim Square, just a normal journey back on the bus. I was sharing a seat with another girl and she was sitting in the inner seat. When it was time for her to alight, I got up to let her out. Suddenly the bus was negotiating a sharp turn, I was standing firm and holding onto the hand rails when the girl suddenly came banging into me and I was there just in time to prevent her from banging into the other side of the bus as she lost her balance. She later then went to alight and two other guys were there giving the look, "what was that all about ?", I simply didn't care and went back to take my seat.

This is Bad ! This is Bad ! What to do ! What to do ! <sob>

I was doing my usual stuff at my com when I received a call. It was Alan, and he told me that his com was hit by a virus. I asked him the name of the virus and he told me that is it a "Trojan Dropper". I told him that it is not a virus but just spyware where it sends irritating pop up windows and also cause either a slow or no connection to the internet. I at first told him to restart his laptop to Safe Mode, he said cannot because he does not know the password, then I told him to join the Workgroup "MSHOME" and disconnect from the RP Server. After he restart, the unthinkable happened. He could neither login as per normal or login into safe mode. There was nothing he could do. Instead of helping him solve the problem, I made it worst. Sorry Alan. I then told him to pass me the laptop tomorrow so that I could bring to my former school to let the computer technicians have a look at it. I pray that God will give me wisdom and help me to solve Alan's laptop problem tomorrow.

Was it a dream or advice from the Almighty ?

Had a dream this morning it was about Auntie Jennifer and if I am not the other was Uncle Steven (Joanna & Samuel's parents). I dreamt that Auntie Jennifer told me that I was an organised person (if I am not wrong) but instead of delegating the work to others, I do it all by myself which is not right. Whatever work i was doing in that dream, I wasn't sure but this was really good advice. Thank you God for teaching me a lesson through this dream about being a good leader.

A Tribute to Steve Irwin - The Crocodile Hunter

I am not sure if you all know Steve Irwin, but he was the host on Animal Planet's Crocodile Hunter. I really loved watching his show on animals and how they behave, etc... Yesterday, on 4 Sept 2006, Steve Irwin died of a punctured chest by the barb of a stingray. Just heard from the news that his body was flown back and will be given a state funeral, one of his colleagues also told the press that there was a video footage of how he died. He left behind his wife, Terri and two children: a daughter, Bindi Sue Irwin (born 24 July 1998), and a son, Robert Clarence "Bob" Irwin (born 1 December 2003). His favourite tag line was "Criky". He will be missed. This goes to show that people die young too, because God is in control all the time, let's continue to live for Christ.

Some guys have all the luck ....

Last night before going to bed, I was thinking about her then this song suddenly played in my mind, the lyrics was "Some guys have all the luck, some guys have all the pain" by Rod Stewart. Like what the title says some guys really have all the luck. Some guys really get the girls while the other guys don't, it is a sad truth. Anyway, after I finished my lunch, I was just walking around in a shopping centre when I suddenly heard this music, it was "Some guys have all the luck" how ironic can it get. It just upsets me to hear such a song. Saw some of the prom night photos, and saw her in the photos, she was really gorgeous in her dress, but I know I know must forget about going there. I understand that the prom didn't turn out well and that she had to handle the whole thing by herself, Haiz... :'(

Guess, it's for the better...

Well, It has been seven days since XXXXX talked to me. So far, she has neither replied my sms nor emails. At first I was worried, I tried apologising to her, even told her that I was sorry if i offended her, but yet, there is no reply. I think it is for the better. I think I am affecting her studies and maybe the prom which didn't turn out well. Although I really long to see her and talk to her, there is also this voice telling me to forget about her as I am so much older than her. It is heart breaking to do such a thing but it is for the better. After all it could be just wishful thinking on my part, like how a saying goes, 'being a toad to long to taste a swan's flesh', I even remembered a scene in "Journey to the West" where General Tian Peng was curse for 999 years. His curse was that whenever he found that he loves and who loves him back, he would die. I always that I had this curse but instead of dying, mine would turn out not only bad but the girl usually ignores me until she forgots she knows me, it does happen before but I am still not sure yet whether someone has cursed me yet. Just imagine, when you found the girl that you really like, she can actually make you look and feel invisible :'(  .There are sometimes I wished I wasn't born or that I wish I was dead so that I won't make the girl feel embarass or miserable. Since, she has ignored me for don't know when, I guess it is still best to at least see that she is safe and happy, when she is sad you'll feel it too and at least pray for her even though she is not yours. Tomorrow will be a better day. To God be the Glory !

What to do ...sob...sob...

Had a bad nightmare (won't elaborate on what it was), then I cried myself to sleep. Why? I was crying to God and asking Him why I had this feelings for XXXXX (whoops! nearly spelled out her name) and I have yet to get a reply from Him. I even told Him that I really need a girl to be there for me, to support me, to be my listening ear and so on... Just as much as I want to be there for this girl, to be there for her, to support her, to lend her a shoulder to cry on or even a shoulder for her to lie on when she is tired.

Almighty God, creator of this world, I prayed that you continue to be there for us to be our tower of refuge and pillar of strength.

After glow Sentosa Camp & My Horrible ... & ...

It was a mad and rush day, had to render 6 videos for the Alpha and Beta Camp. I didn't really accomplish it, the Alpha ending video wasn't completed and therefore had to play the intro video for the beginning and ending for the Sec 4 & SFA Chapel. The singing was good especially thanks to Karen, Natasha, Inez, Isaac, Viet, Angeline Ang, Sherwin, Alan and many more. They sang The Solid Rock by 4Him, A testimony was given by Karen, Marcus and Jann. A skit was also presented to the Sec 4s and Pre-Us. Finalyy the video, it was good in the beginning until I heard my voice and boy I really felt uncomfortable hearing my voice in the video, especially the laughing and some of the sentences spoken. I really don't like my voice, I don't even like my face, how to woo girl ! how to get a wife for me to love ! Haiz... I really don't know what to do  Even though I am a guy, I can really cry at times, even just for a girl.

God, I pray you continue to help me to love myself as I am your creation, created in Your image. I also pray that I too will use that love to love others like how Jesus did. Thank you Lord, Amen

Can pick up and can let go...

I started to like this girl when I was with them for thier Bukit Timah Training until Sentosa Camp. It really was no biggie until the Sentosa Camp when my love for her grew even more. I didn't even know how to control my feelings as I am much too old for and yet she is so adorable, haiz... I cried one night because I told myself that it is time to forget her as she is young and I feel that I don't deserve a girl like her, haiz... Before I met her. I already went through a "Tornado" with another girl, I really don't want it to happen again as the pain is really unbearable - the pain of rejection. I also heard that there are now many suitors after her since the end of Sentosa Camp, I am more glad then sad to hear that, at least she is blessed. There were many times I tried to show my feelings for her but everytime I do it, I will hold myself back. What a whirl of confusion. So silly ! Want to tell a girl you like her yet you don't want, "REJECTION" haiz... Well, she is not only young but also bright. I really don't deserve this, so I think to treat her as a sister is still better. Everytime I do anything, I must see her so that I can get the peace, some of you may say it is love but I think - out of my league. I saw her today at chapel but I also told myself that I have to let it go. As the saying goes, Instead of eternal pain, why not a time of short pain, I also agree. I even have the guts to ask her whether I could accompany her to the prom night INDIRECTLY, I know she would not agree so I better not probe any further as it can be irritating. I hope whoever the guy who is interested in her, really cares for her. God bless her and him. To those who know who the girl is, please don't reveal it, as it will cause the embarassment very badly whenever we meet. Who knows it was all along a one-sided love. haizz....
Dear God, I pray you bless the guy who is wooing her and that they stay happy together, Father Lord I also pray you help me get over my feelings for this girl and that I will continue to lean on your strength to overcome this as You are an overcomer.

Sentosa Camp Beta 2006

Day 1 (10-Aug-06)

After Mr Chang went to the bus with the Alpha campers in order to go back to school, the camp committee for the Beta camp and I started working on the songs to sing and the games to play for the ice-breaker. Soon around 3pm, they've arrived all 10 of them - 3 girls, if I am not wrong, there was 1 Japanese, 1 Korean and 5 Chinese students. They were not an easy group as they didn't know what they were here for except for fun. Karen was happy though as they slightly more girls than the previous camp. Organising them for the activites was not an easy feat as we need to constantly remind them on what activites were coming up next. After the singspiration conducted by Karen, Maurice went on to conduct the ice-breaker games. It really turned out well as he introduced "Wacko" and on explaining on how the game runs. After the games, we all went to have our dinner and proceeded to the hall for Mr Chang's Theme talk 1. We also went to the musical fountain for the campers to enjoy a program with lights, lasers and animation. After that, we then went for a night walk. We lead all the campers to a dragon trail which was totally pitch dark except for the moon gleaming down for the campers to walk. It was really a challenging walk as we didn't know what to expect and when were we reaching the destination. Thank God that we all managed to reach the destination in one peace except Karen had a scratch or two on her arm. We took a group photo at Siloso beach and made our way back to the SU Campsite.

Day 2 (11-Aug-06)

The next morning, we all gathered at the dining hall for our breakfast and we also sang some songs followed by Mr Chang's Theme talk 2. AFter the tea break, we started the games for the campers where we had them spltted into two groups of five. Mr Chang conducted the hall games at first. They really enjoyed themselves on working together and communicating with one another regardless of their race or gender. We then took them outside the SU Campsite for station games like the horizontal spider web and a very big see-saw. Finally, we brought them to an open field for their relay games and also tug-of-war. All in all, the campers really had lots of fun and enjoyed themselves very much because of the games. We then went back to the campsite, had our lunch and sent off the campers for their 4 hours of free and easy. After dinner, we all sang two christian songs which uses actions to engage the campers. We then went on to the star night performance, and boy it was really creative of the campers to come up with ideas trying to realte to the Camp theme which was "Standing On The Rock". Both teams really did well, and the Best Actor was a China Boy Sijia and Jenn for best actress. Kudos to the both of them. Team Moses got the first prize for the best skit.

Day 3 (12-Aug-06)

After breakfast, we all proceeded to a time of singspiration and Theme talk 3 by Mr Chang, After the tea break, we all proceeded to clear up and pack our stuff and also did area cleaning of the campsite. We then went out for our final lunch together as campers and came back for a phototaking session. We then came back to school around 2:40 pm to unload the logistic stuff and also to proceed home after a 3 Day/2 Night stay at the campsite. Beside thanking God, Mr Chang and Ms Sarah for making this camp a success, Ialso want to thank Maurice for being not only the Logistics I/C but also for conductuing the games, The ex-students and helpers of SFMS and lastly my 2 I/C Karen for putting up with all my nonsense and for being there to support me. To God be the Glory.

Sentosa Camp Alpha 2006

Day 1 (08-Aug-06)

After reading Natasha's, Alan's, Andre's and Marcus's blog, I think it is my turn to do mine. Arrived at 7am in school to prepare th logistics to move to the Mezzanine floor. The counselling room was a mess due to the enormous amount of items to bring to the camp. Came back from breakfast at 9:30 am and saw Inez, ANgeline and Amanda busy doing last minute touch ups to the camp registration. After the whole committee arrived at the CMS room, I got Viet the Logistics I/C, MArcus & Andre to get the stuff ready to be sent to the Mezzanine floor to wait for the bus which will get us to the Scripture Union Campsite early so that everything is already setup when the campers reach Sentosa. Everything was sent to the Upper Hall which was newly air-conditioned unlike the previous camps where were only wall fans. Our personal belongings were taken to our respective rooms and the logistic equipment were either set up or left in one corner for the various departments to use. After the campers arrived, we sang a song and started the ice-breakers, everyone had fun then we had our dinner and Theme talk one by Mr Chang. AFter which, we proceeded to the Musical Fountain to watch KiKi, Sentosa's Monkey. "Hello, hello, hello, The monkey waits for lo, hello, hello, oooo". I went back to the campsite while the rest went of for the Night Games.

Day 2 (09-Aug-06)

Morning came and we had breakfast after which was Theme Talk 2 and then we had Games. The campers had a ball of a time and after that, we all headed back for lunch. After lunch, the campers discussed for their star night skit and left for the time of Free & EZ for 4 whole hours, I didn't join as I was in the campus doing the video for them to see. I really hoped they enjoyed watching it as I was making it. AFter dinner, we had the star night performance and the campers did better than the camp committee. Kudos to the winners. After which, we had a camp debrief and it was time to sleep.

God is speaking, are you listening ?

Today I reached church at around 9:10am and waited for Joanna so that we could practise the worship songs again. Pastor Anne also told me that the answers to my last New Testament assignment were not correct. haiz... The above title was today's Sermon title, it was presented by Rev. Dr. Norman Wong of Methodist Missions Society, was director of CMS which was Chang's boss, now no more. His exhortation was very good, it really engaged the audience, he did not stay at the rostrum or pulpit throughout the whole sermon and he also used the aids of powerpoint. Not only funny and comical but also some parts of the message were applicable to life on how we should tune ourselves to hear God speaking in Romans !:19-20. Jesus also told His disciples many times "Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear". After service, we had a little tea break and we went out seperate ways. I came home and watched a DVD borrowed from Andre entitled "New Police Story" starring Jackie Chan, it showed how a group of young punks used the police as targets in some sort of sick game. Jackie Chan who wanted to bring them to justice, lost all his nine colleagues at one time. I was so eager to even fast forward the whole show to see how he got even but i decided not to do so. The young punks turned out to be children of parents who held high positions in society like CEOs and directors shows what a broken family that turns out. Anyway, good to know that God is listening to us though He may seem to be far away. To God be the Glory !

Religious Emphasis Day 11th July 2006

This was the day when it all had to come down. Students made thier way to the recital hall from the CMS room. Sarah and Mdm Yan briefed the ushers on what to do when the students come in, where the students are to be seated and also about the response forms. Soon Peter and the rest came in and we went on to rehearse and the word rehearsal is spelled as "rehearsal" and not "rehersal". Rehearsal didn't turn out the way Chang wanted it but the show must go on. In the beginning, the principal came in and Peter started to sing the first line of "Still" then we went on to "dreams" and "You are my all in all". Special song item "So You Would Come", "Flying Without Wings" and "Because You Loved Me". We then sang "For All You've Done". Dance was next by Angeline, Nicole, Jonatha, Alan and Inez. We then went on to the drama, potraying a scenario of gangsterism, mother-daughter quarrel over grades and a broke up between a girl's best friend and her boyfriend. I was a bit shocked to see James who pushed Nicole to the floor, though it is part of acting, I am a bit sad about it. After David Leong of Scripture Union gave the message, the students were given the response form and filled it up. We then end the whole session by singing "For All You've Done", at least the students were excited about the singing, but thanks be to God that all went well. To God be the Glory.

Graduation 2006

Today was the day, the day I finally graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I started my day by going to the barber to have a hair cut. Waited for a while as there was already a barber serving one customer and there was no one else around. AFter the hair cut, i came back home changed and went to meet Phie Lip for our last lunch at the Ngee Ann canteen from there we proceeded to the holding area where we were briefef on how to present ourselves when we go on stage to take the certs and exit. We were also given a name card with a bar code so that our names will appear on the screen when our names were read. Many of the graduands were either handsome or gorgeous especially the ladies. After all the graduates received their certs, there was an event where 4 very outstanding students were called one by one and how many disctinctions and A's each one got. I was surprised to hear one of my friend, Chua Qijing who scored 29 Distinctions and 5 A's, it really took me by surprise on how well he did, but it also daunt on me on how bad I did in my exams and how I could have done better if I put my mind to it. Anyway we dismissed to the foyer for the reception and had a photo session. Was planning to go out together to celebrate but in the end the idea was cancelled as many had to go back camp or home. All in all, I really hope that our friendship never ends even though we are no longer students of Ngee Ann. After going through the good and bad times, we have become more confident, building better bonds, having wider scopes in our fields and also have that sense of fulfilment when we stepped of Ngee Ann because in the words of Chua Qijing, "WE MADE IT".

My Birthday Experience

It was 29th April 2006, yes, this was the day when God decided to let me into the world. It didn't mean much to me as I feel that it was just an ordinary day. One thing that I was looking forward was a man from Starhub. As I have subscribed to have the Starhub CableTV. After a 2 hr wait, the man arrived to fix up the system into the TV wall socket. Though there were only five groups, there were about less than 20 channels, in various genres like education and entertainment. I was glad that I have CableTV finally after a long time. Another thing was that there is only one guitarist for the practise as the rest were either busy or not scheduled to play on the following Sunday. Guest what, the song leader was Joanna. I didn't really think much of it as I did play guitar with Meifeng as the song leader and so just to be a guitarist for Joanna wasn't a big deal. We planned to meet at 3pm but I did let her down and arrived 10 mins after 3. She didn't seem upset as usual but she also doesn't talk to me much even about my lateness or chat about other things, therefore I still feel that I am transparent in her eyes. But I think God gave me this opportunity to build a better rapport with Joanna. We started of with a prayer and proceed with familiarisation of songs and chord correction. While I was playing, my fingers just couldn't play the chords correctly I really didn't know why. Is it because I still can't get over my feelings for her or is it just that to be an instrumentalist to play for her as a song leader was of great honour. I didn't know, so I told God to give me strength to overcome my problem so that I can play well for Him and that my co-ordination with Joanna would be precise. After playing a few times, my problem stopped and playing the guitar wasn't stressful but thank God everything turn out fine and the mood of the worship was not affected.
